XX Tuning first started out as a small one person shop in Rocky Hill, CT. The name of the shop was called Dynamic Installations and was started by Dan Nazzaro (better known as DB) back in 1980. Danny started out installing custom remote starters, alarms, stereo systems, K40 Radar protection, and minor performance upgrades. Dynamic Installations quickly grew to a 2 man operation, then three... and so on. Dynamic Installations then grew to move out of the one bay facility and into a 4 bay facility in Wethersfield, CT, and the name changed to Just Right Installations. As we grew, we began to see the growth and need for performance parts, that's when Acceleration Pluss was born. Acceleration Pluss was a separate entity of Just Right, and simply dealt with the automotive performance aspect of the business. As we grew even more, we began to realize that we needed to push harder, and with that came the purchase of our first Dyno, the Dynapack 5500.

After the purchase of our AWD dyno, we began to tune cars, and we did it with a vengeance. So with that came our final name, XX Tuning. XX Tuning was best known for the Subaru WRX/Impreza market. XX Tuning is a worldwide name for the Subaru market, and we attribute our growth to that among other small factors.

XX Tuning was still hungry and passionate about generating new types of business, both import and domestic, but with that came a need for a location and shop that could support the future that XX had planned. In November of last year, we acquired a new 22,000sq/ft facility that was destined to be one of the baddest and most trend setting performance facilities in the Northeast. We wanted a facility that would meet the demands placed on us by our customers and a place when you walked in, you knew that we were a shop that "Meant business" and nothing else.

Since our move, we have currently been setting up shop, and here are some features we have.



-The back shop consists of two 8,000sq/ft sections and is separated by a wall.

The first section is where all our RokBlok and electronics are done. Both are in a low dust environment to get optimal results from the clear film install. The floors in both sections are epoxy painted and cleaned weekly. Along with the RokBlok, XX Tuning also offers a wide variety of Alarms, remote starters, Radar detection and protection, and stereo installation.

The second section is where the performance aspect of XX Tuning happens. Currently we have 3 lifts, and one alignment lift/rack. A wide variety of tools including Tig/Mig welders, Tire mounting and balancing machines, bridgeport, and lathe. We make many one off parts for our customers when the need arises, and the tools to do the job are mostly in house. As many of you know, this is where we house both our Dynpack 5500 and our new Mustang 1750DE dyno. This is also where our engine assembly room is, and a customer waiting room with soon to have LCD monitors to watch your car being dynoed (in progress).

-One huge advantage that XX Tuning has over most any other performance shop in the US is the ability to choose which dyno you want to use.

Dynapacks

- When we first started with the Dynapacks, we realized that we purchased a dyno that was the elite of dyno systems, and we paid for it. The Dynapack system, with all the options that we purchased with it, came to just under $130,000 delivered from New Zealand. This was an investment that we truly believed would separate us from the rest. The purchase price of the dyno is a main reason why our pricing isn't as competitive as other chassis dyno pricing, but we truly believe that once you experience the Dynapacks, it's hard going to anything else. This dyno is an AWD setup with full feature Wideband 0/2, boost pressure sensors, and a variety of other small features that make this dyno our favorite and only chassis tuning device. The Dynapacks have a horsepower limit of 1000awhp and 1200awtq, with a braking capacity of 800awhp.

Mustang Dyno

- With the growth of XX Tuning and our client list becoming more diverse, we realized that many of our domestic customers felt that a roller dyno was the only true way of getting an accurate reading of a cars power potential, though we may not agree with this, we wanted to please our clients. We also were unable to dyno any type of trucks or HIGH horsepower vehicles with the Dynapacks. With that came the decision to purchase our latest dyno, the Mustang 1750DE. This dyno is currently in the process of being setup at the shop. It is an above ground chassis dyno, and has some neat features that we believe our 2WD customers will appreciate. The Mustang Dyno has a maximum horsepower rating of 1,750 hp with an 800hp max absorption rating. The mustang dyno also has a full MoTec 5 gas Wideband 02 setup, boost pressure sensors, and a very cool 1/4 mile simulation system that is being added this month. This dyno was purchased in the hopes to bring a new aspect of the business to the shop, and to offer to our customers a better, more competitively priced dyno solution.
